After months of rain in some States, hearing about the Federal election and lack lustre consumer sentiment, it was a relief to see the sun shining and lots of positivity during the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The BIA stand saw a constant flow of traffic with enquiries from the public and businesses covering everything from Marine Jobs to Discover Boating and Marine Card to BIA membership. Congratulations to Mulpha Events for delivering a stellar event shining a spotlight on the marine industry.
The past two weeks have been a whirlwind for your industry association, with events and meetings being held in numerous locations and the team powering on with planning for a busy few months ahead. We were delighted to have been involved with Chapman Yachting’s Crew Event recently held at The Boat Works. An evening that brought together hundreds of businesses and employees in recognition of the importance of collaboration. Well done to all the businesses involved and especially to the Chapman Yachting team. We were delighted to have supported this event.
While we’re on the topic of celebrations, Ocean Media’s Studio 54 themed 20th birthday event was a night spent celebrating the much-deserved success of one of the few remaining premium yachting magazines. Well done to Hillary and her team.
The BIA has also been busy on the other side of the world this week, with Andrew Scott attending the 2025 ICOMIA Congress in beautiful Palma de Mallorca. Congratulations to Andrew on his success during this event for the BIA and to newly appointed ICOMIA President, Frank Hugelmeyer who takes over from BIA’s Darren Vaux.
June is going to be another big month for the BIA Team. We have a record number of Marine Jobs events, the launch of BIA Brokerage Accreditation, high-level Government meetings and the release of the 2025 Sydney International On-Water Boat Show to be held in November, just to name a few items. If you’re still thinking about being part of the Sydney Boat Show in August, this event is very close to being a sell-out. Make sure you get in touch with the Mulpha team straight away to secure one of the few remaining spaces.
There’s only so much that I can cover in my piece of eNews, there is much more happening some of which you can read about in this issue.
Enjoy the read and I look forward to catching up with you soon.
See you on the water.
