How to apply for membership

Applying for membership is easy, simply email our Membership Team on membership@bia.org.au, providing your business name, location and best contact details and we’ll be in touch to discuss membership with you very shortly.

The membership application process requires the application be supported by a proposer and seconder, both of which must be current BIA members, and is then subject to review and approval by the BIA Board.

Membership Fees

The BIA membership year is 1 January to 31 December, with a subscription fee payable on joining and then at annual renewal. Applicant members joining during the year are charged a quarterly-based, pro-rata fee. Fees are reviewed annually and members are notified in writing of any changes.

Corporate Members

Corporate membership subscription is tiered, based on member business size, defined by the number of employees.

Membership at all tiers have access to the full range of BIA member benefits.

1 Sole traders or up to 5 $605
2 6 to 10 $1100
3 11 to 20 $1815
4 21 to 50 $2860
5 More than 50 $4400

Prices are GST inclusive

NOTE: Number of employees is the full-time equivalent number of staff employees within the business, or across the group where multiple marine businesses are owned and operated as a single company. A full-time equivalent employee is taken to be one employed for a 38-hour week, or a combination of individuals working fewer hours aggregating a total of 38 hours per week.

TRADE MEMBERSHIP

Trade members benefits are designed to keep you connected with industry and the BIA as you progress through your roles in a BIA Member business or develop your own business.

New Trade members

$495 (GST inclusive) for three years

Marine Card holders upgrading to a Trade Membership

Upgrade your existing BIA Marine Card to a Trade Membership at these special rates

Houseboat Hirers Division

Houseboat Hirer members have access to the same corporate membership benefits as well as those exclusive to Houseboats. This includes a marketing levy used solely for the promotion of houseboat holidays. The marketing levy is $300 per year.

Fee including Houseboat Marketing Levy – $905 (GST inclusive) per year.
