A great day on the water and safe

As the Australian boating season officially kicks off, it also marks the return of Safe Boating Week—an important initiative that highlights the life-saving value of wearing lifejackets. While most of us appreciate their importance, this week serves as a timely reminder to encourage your customers, colleagues and friends to check their gear and stay safe on the water.

Personally, I use this opportunity to inspect my own lifejackets—checking the servicing dates on inflatables and ensuring all others are in good condition.

This year, Safe Boating Week also sees the public launch of the BIA’s Marine Broker Accreditation program. With over 90 brokerage businesses already accredited, buyers can now enjoy greater confidence knowing they’re dealing with professionals who uphold high standards of ethics, service and industry knowledge.

With just over four weeks to go until the inaugural Sydney International On-Water Boat Show, preparations are well underway as marina pontoons begin arriving in Darling Harbour. It’s a massive logistical effort that seems to roll around faster each year. We’re excited to welcome a strong lineup of exhibitors from 13–16 November, along with a host of new activations that promise to make this year’s show truly memorable.

See you out there,

Andrew Fielding
