One week to go! Starting Thursday 1 August through to Sunday 4 August.

Get on Board!

Both the halls and marina are nearing completion, and are ready for bump-in which starts this Friday for some marina exhibitors and continues throughout the weekend, and the halls start bump in on Monday.

Notwithstanding our on-water activations, there will be some fantastic stock on display for the public to see. The marina will be overflowing with an amazing flotilla of big boats (sail and power), and the halls will be jammed packed with all types of trailerable boats, paddle craft, ski and wake boats, foil craft, boating chandlery and accessories, safety gear, timber boats and much more. The Boating Safety Zone is once again being managed by Transport for NSW with the aim of helping the public to keep up to date on aquatic recreational and safety.

Cockle Bay in progress

The BIA advertising campaign for the Show is in full swing including our television commercials voiced by Show Ambassador Andrew ‘ET’ Ettingshausen who is making waves across the country. Check out the ET clip here.

Key advertising activities include the following:

  • Commercial TV
  • Radio
  • Outdoor Billboards
  • Digital TV
  • Digital Video
  • Social Media
  • Google Search

TV stations will be onsite on the opening day of the Show for a full morning of weather crosses followed by The Morning Show on Friday, with more live crosses on the weekend.

The strength of the advertising campaigns are assisting with the pre-show ticket sales. Sales are strong and we look forward to a successful Show, showcasing ‘best’ of industry product and materials.

Our forums, activations and opening function are generating excellent interest and good take up. Please look out for these invitations to ensure you secure a place in the Forums or Official Opening breakfast.

We have Transport Minister Jo Haylen opening the Show on the Friday, we have ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch also speaking at the opening and at our Sustainability and Vessel Standards Forums. We have Diversity Council of Australia CEO Lisa Annese as our keynote speaker at the Diversity Forum, and the NSW Maritime TAFE Awards on the indoor stage Friday afternoon, and more than 600 High School Marine Studies students attending our Marine Career Open Days on Thursday and Friday.

The BIA Apprentice of the Year Award will also be presented at the Official Opening, recognising the exceptional contributions of apprentices to the marine industry and highlighting the importance of training and career development within the sector.  We are delighted to have received a very strong entry for the Awards this year and look forward to the finalists joining their industry colleagues for the much-anticipated announcement of the winners. Well done to all who entered.

Our activations on the foreshore and in the ICC foyer are all set, including the Discover Sailing and Paddling Hub with its ‘live’ stage. The foreshore area between the ICC and Cockle Bay will feature an assortment of displays and will include our partners in safety Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW and the Melanoma Institute. The safe boating and sun-safe message will be strong.

I’d like to thank all exhibitors for their ongoing support towards our Show, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 55th Sydney International Boat Show!

See you at the Show
