For those who relish in casting a line into the open coastal waters, or perhaps prefer exploring the vast inland waterways, the 55th Sydney International Boat Show will be the ultimate one-stop-shop to discover all of the latest and greatest equipment and accessories suitable for any fishing adventure. 

Taking over Sydney’s iconic Darling Harbour and International Convention Centre (ICC) from 1 to 4 August, the Sydney International Boat Show will impress enthusiasts and professionals alike with a diverse and expert line-up. From cutting-edge tackle, advanced fish finders, trolling engines, new gear, gadgets, plus more than 600 boats on display, every taste, style and budget will be accommodated for.

Keen anglers are also in for a treat with Australia’s leading fishing retail store, Hot Tackle exhibiting at the Show. Hot Tackle provides anglers with the best quality tackle from the biggest and best fishing suppliers in Australia and globally, offering a fully inclusive range from light estuary lures to heavy game tackle, and everything in between.

This year the Main Stage will be a hub of fishing knowledge and excitement, with daily sessions packed with educational fishing demonstrations and masterclasses, dishing out  valuable tips and tricks. Hosted by Channel 7’s Fishing, Boating, and Weather Expert and host of Step Outside with Paul Burt seen everyday around Australia on 7Mate as well as throughout the USA and Canada, Burty brings to the line-up fishing royalty covering a variety of topics including:

Fishing icon Paul Burt said, the Main Stage always delivers a fantastic atmosphere and experience for everyone with 2024 set to be the best yet, including a few surprises.

The popular Shimano Fishing Tank Show, hosted by Australia’s highly regarded fishing expert Dave “Mossy” Moss, will also return, offering entertainment for both fishing enthusiasts and curious spectators. Mossy shares his deep knowledge and passion for fishing, providing valuable insights to enhance all fishing levels and land that prized catch. Exciting giveaways featuring impressive prizes from Shimano, Lowrance, and Gamakatsu will also be awarded during each presentation. 

Another crowd pleaser is renowned rugby league alumni turned fishing icon and Show Ambassador, Andrew ‘ET’ Ettingshausen. ET continues to spend much of his time on the water filming for his popular Network Ten show “Escape Fishing with ET”. As one of Australia’s longest running and most beloved fishing programs, each episode transports viewers to thrilling and exotic locations across the country as ET embarks on action-packed fishing adventures. 

Paul Burt will sit down with ET for a one-on-one chat on the Main Stage and will share the expertise and insights gained from the record 25 seasons of “Escape Fishing with ET” or for those seeking a meet and greet, ET will be situated in the Discover Sailing and Paddling Hub on the Cockle Bay Marina Foreshore. One extremely lucky audience member will also leave the Show with a “money can’t buy” fishing day out with ET on Sydney’s iconic Harbour, for the winner and two friends. Tickets start from AUD$25 for an early bird general admission ticket, available to purchase until 17 July 2024. Children under 16 years of age are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
