I write to thank you for your recent letter regarding support for the boating industry as South Australia begins to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
I also thank you for sharing with me the media release your Association issued on 5 June confirming intrastate boating had recommenced across Australia.
In addition to this gradual and welcome relaxation of COVID-19 restirictions, I am pleased to confirm the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is working through COVID-19 recovery plans to reactivate our tourism sector. The primary focus of our ‘Welcome Back’ marketing campaign is intrastate travel and we will progress to interstate travel when our borders reopen.
Water activities, including ocean boating and fishing, will feature in the ‘Welcome Back’ campaign. Houseboating, kayaking and boating on the River Murray will also be showcased.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to write to me and I hope this response alleviates some of the concerns you raised with me.
