Dear Mr Vaux

Thank you for your letter regarding economic stimulus project opportunities to help support South Australia’s recovery from the economic impacts of COVID-19.

As you may be aware, the Marshall Liberal Government has announced major economic stimulus initiatives worth $1 billion to support South Australian jobs, local businesses and industry sectors survive the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

This includes $120 million for new infrastructure projects to help keep more South Australians in a job and support local businesses. Shovel ready projects were prioritised which can support jobs now and keep the economy moving.

As you can appreciate, the State Government has received many requests for funding under this initiative. I have requested the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure consider your suggestions should additional stimulus funds be made available. Proposals will be prioritised to ensure that funding is directed towards fully justified, shovel ready projects and those that will bring the greatest benefits for the economy and local community.

You may also be interested to know that $1.6 million has been allocated from the Marine Facilities Fund for the following boating facility improvement projects for 2020/21:
• St Kilda boat ramp widening and access pontoons upgrade;
• Waikerie Edgar Bartlett Drive boat ramp upgrade;
• Black Point boat ramp upgrade; and
• Lock 6 boat ramp upgrade.

I trust this information is of assistance.

Yours sincerely

HON STEPHAN KNOLL MP
MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT, INFRASTRUCTURE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT
